Untitled poem

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Looking out the window

past the trees,

Onto the lake

winter frozen.

Hills behind.

This is as far as my

eyes can see.

So I close them, and

nature opens her glory.

Lake and mountain stretch

far and wide.

Beauty and stillness

abound.

Like fresh air in

my lungs,

my heart soars open.

Wide as the lake.

Open as the sky.

Deep as the mountains.

As face smiles, so does

body.

Each cell radiating

like the sun.

All in joy.
